Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent Republican donor and co-founder of Roivant Science, recently revealed his ideal pick for Vice President: former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
According to Ramaswamy, Christie has the right credentials, makes an excellent communicator, and has the capacity to bring in critical swing votes. Additionally, Ramaswamy noted Christie’s ability to “take on [Hillary] Clinton directly”, citing his success in the “Bridgegate” case.
Ramaswamy also suggested that Christie would fit the “mold” of a modern-day VP candidate, citing his support for criminal justice reform and immigration reform. He added that promoting Christie as a VP pick would also help show the Republican Party’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Whether President Trump selects Christie as VP remains to be seen. However, Ramaswamy’s suggestion of Christie is sure to be seen as a strong endorsement of his candidacy for the role.
